Yankees name Masahiro Tanaka Opening Day starter

The New York Yankees announced Friday afternoon that the team has named right-handed pitcher Masahiro Tanaka their Opening Day starter.

Tanaka will pitch against the Toronto Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium.

After Tanaka, the starting rotation consists of right-hander Michael Pineda, left-hander CC Sabathia and right-hander Nathan Eovaldi.

Last season, the 26-year-old posted a 2.77 ERA and an impressive 13-5 record in 136.1 innings pitched. He also compiled 141 strikeouts and three complete games.
