Not since the days of Stephen Curry carrying Davidson to within one possession of the Final Four in 2008, has the Davidson Wildcats made this kind of noise in college basketball.

The Wildcats joined the final AP Poll of the season this week after crushing VCU and Duquesne last week. At 23-6 on the year, Davidson will be the top seed in this week’s Atlantic-10 Tournament held in Brooklyn.

Along with Davidson’s rise to No. 24 in the poll, Boise State, the regular season champions of the Mountain West Conference, joined the poll at No. 25 this week.

As for the top of the poll, nine of the top 10 teams remained inside the top-10, with Missouri Valley Tournament Champions Northern Iowa joining the top-10, at No. 10. The Panthers saved many bubble teams’ chances on Sunday afternoon by winning the MVC title against Illinois State in St. Louis.

Kentucky, who wrapped up an undefeated season this past Saturday, received all 65 first-place votes and remained atop the final poll of the regular season. After sweeping North Carolina on Saturday night, Duke jumped ACC foe Virginia to take the No. 2 ranking inside this week’s poll.
