Manchester United have not approached Ajax to make any bids for Daley Blind, according to his agent.

Despite landing the signing of Marcos Rojo from Sporting Lisbon, United are still reportedly in the market looking to bolster their defense by signing Dutch defender Daley Blind.

United scouts were reportedly in Holland to watch Ajax take on PSV Eindhoven and there have been claims that the Old Trafford side are ready to bid £18m.

However Blind’s agent, Rob Jansen, has dismissed these claims by telling talkSPORT“At this moment Manchester United have not been in touch with me or Ajax about Daley and I’m not sitting here waiting for the call.”

Ajax manager Frank de Boer recently advised the defender that he stay in Holland for one more year at least, but also admits that the club would cash in if he were to be sold to the Premier League outfit.

“We all know that if there is a certain amount on the table we cannot refuse. Then we’ll wish him all the best,” de Boer said.

“But I have not heard anything about it, so I am assuming that he still stays for a year. I think it’s best for him, but on the other hand, the temptation is there if such a big club comes.”
