Virginia Beach, VA – Tylan Mcelhenie played baseball and football as a way to “stay out of trouble.” Once he realized that he could be one of the top dogs inside the numbers, he began to focus solely on football. Off the field, a lot of people know him as a jokester but he says “I like to be funny, but I’m serious when it comes to business.”
Heading into his junior year at Ocean Lakes High School, football is a passion for him and he knows being fresh off of a state championship that the bar is raised even higher this season.
“It’s crazy when the young guys start to look up to you and the older guys look down to you.”
The Dolphins start their title defense on August 20 at Richmond powerhouse, Hermitage. Look for Mcelhenie to play both sides of the ball this season.
