Lionel Messi has broken Telmo Zarra‘s for the most goals in La Liga history with his 252nd goal Saturday. Zarra held the record with 251 goals during a span of 1939-57, according to Adam Shergold of the Daily Mail.

Messi has tied Raul for the most goals in Champions League history; he broke the record in 2012 for the most goals scored in a single European league season; he also netted the most goals in a calendar year with 86 that year; he has scored in 19 straight league matches; he’s a four-time winner of the Ballon d’Or trophy, and he’s also Barcelona’s all-time leading goalscorer.

Yup, Messi has accomplished quite a bit during his career. And amazingly, the Argentinian is only 27 years old and has a lot of soccer left to play. He has become arguably the greatest La Liga player ever.
