After initially committing to Michigan State, 6-foot-8 big man Caleb Swanigan reopened his recruitment on May 7, and there was one school who immediately became the favorite to land the five-star recruit: Purdue.

Swanigan has made it official that he will be a Boilermaker next season, according to multiple reports. He will join a class that includes four-star guard Ryan Cline, three-star guard Grant Weatherford and Texas-Arlington transfer Johnny Hill.

They will also be loaded in the frontcourt with A.J. Hammons, Isaac Haas and Vince Edwards all returning next season.

Swanigan was the ninth ranked player in the ESPN 100, and 19th in the Rivals 150. He considered schools like Kentucky, California and Arizona before making his final decision.

The Big Ten has become very deep, and Purdue will be one of the teams competing for the top spot in the conference next season.
