Right-handed pitcher Esmil Rogers signed a one-year, $750,000 contract with the New York Yankees to avoid arbitration today.

CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman reports that the pitcher can earn up to $1.48 million next year with incentives. The move is strictly depth for the organization next season. He had 44 strike outs in 45.2 innings pitched last season with both the Toronto Blue Jays and Yankees.
